Notes :

First issued more than 10 years ago (in very limited deluxe edition of 100 handmade CDs/2007) by Lesdisques Blasphematoires Du Palatin  — a memorable label name conveying a frontal cynicism towards the globalizing music appreciation's most canonical sphere —, Michael Yonkers & GR's The High Speed Recording Complex still remains today the unparalleled piece of Outsider Music it was predestined to be and, like the Phoenix rising again & again from the ashes of his aromas and incense nest, has sniffed the means of its own survival in the burning flames.

Living about 4500 miles apart from each other, both men found through the distance, beyond space geography, the simplest process of all by just sending each other the parts captured (at high-speed) on their respective 4-track tape recorder, injecting new material coming out of "transatlantic delivery" with new layered sounds and so on until the sonic multi-dispatch gets dosed in an outrageous mix. They coined it "The High Speed Recording Complex".
Out of the speakers this is some boiling lava of tremendous noise diffused on the surface of the skin, — move closer, this is just future Blues licensed by natural germination!
in 2010, the album was reissued on LP by the Spanish label Burka For Everybody, offering on the same occasion a second master made by GR.

11 years after its first release, a re-premiere of the complete album — with the original 2007 master — is made available by Opaque Dynamo, and for the first time with digital download option.
It's time to plug your ears again to this ultra dynamic, raw & powerful concoction which raises the Lo-Fi approach to a pivotal degree of self-liberation.

Chronicles Excerpts

Yonkers isn't a smart arse, he doesn't look down on others, this record with the French GR is the drone which Charlie Patton would have liked to ride, mutant shit that Yonkers and GR burn phisically. It's urban blues which describes the outer limits with a cosmic urge in a hyperrealist way. Dudes!! Yonkers reveals himself in a god of thunder from Minneapolis in order to establish connection with the Mayas who built in Benidorm Eons times ago. On the whole, this guy definitely talked to ghosts and spirits.
Excerpt from the notes of B.F.E's Vinyl LP edition

... these two plug their electric guitars directly into your frontal lobes! With incessant, reverbed, choo-choo train rhythms on rattling percussion ... Alien distortodelic rock n' roll.
Or, maybe, we're still asleep... 'cause we've GOTTA be dreaming. Is it really true that outsider underground guitar wranglers Michael Yonkers and Gregory Raimo team up on this lp? Yes indeed they do!
Excerpt from the Aquarius Records review for the Vinyl LP edition

Release Notes :

Opaque Dynamo launches the « cassette series » collection with the release of an enigmatic artefact: Hôpital De La Conception (The Electric Rockin’ Chair), a real mind-distorter for all zealots of primitive electric guitar fury and utter expression of instinctive command _, a tantalizing charge of impenetrable origin, deeply infused in savage fire and filled with unruly beauty.

The so-called Hôpital De La Conception has seemingly arranged it all well in order to maintain an aura of mystery and ensure the untraceability of the band member(s)’ real identity; as a matter of fact, the only thing to feed our fantasies lies exclusively in the disclosure of the man-behind-the-guitar&voice’s epic moniker: Junk Nurse.
What’s going on here?! The cover mentions « Hôpital De La Conception, featuring Junk Nurse in The Electric Rockin’ Chair ». Thus are we desperately conjecturing (in vain?) about the existence of a shifting collective, but which actually reveals us its very first known incarnation in soloing itself on guitar in the person of Junk Nurse..?.. —Yet the name itself allows one to catch a glimpse of the kind of deal to expect!

And indeed, hear what happens once Junk Nurse is being set in The electric rockin’ chair: a powerful dichotomy gliding over the music form—, an influx of deconstruction, a barrage of free-form excavations meeting with a minimalist (and spooky!) edifice which repeatedly hammers its mantra with motorik pressure. One feels there is a strong inclination to defy the music genre by opening the possibilities for improvisation and developing progressive structural changes.
The recording offers two massive instrumental pieces like resonant monoliths, fully urban and in (most likely) unusual open-chord tuning. Besides, a haunting sporadic singing is found interspersed in the flow, it arises in sudden bursts and in an unexpected way like to summon the spirit of a forgotten protest.
The gripping guitar tone enables Junk Nurse to so sharpen his style to the most expressive edge, as we also see him able to enter the realm of Guitar-Feedback loudness through a melodic door leading to a unique mastery in subtle & complex frequencies and, from there, to definitely unfold such an onslaught of guitar sounds as scary as dazzling for the senses.

Directly mastered from reel tape, Hôpital De La Conception’s The electric rockin’ chair is an inspirational journey through the meanders of intense saturation & rumbling vibes, one of these rare ecstatic experiences to surface in our new Millenium.

* Available in a limited serie of 100 (hand-numbered) cassette tapes

Release Notes :

" Give my nerves a little workout,
— my flesh sonic uppers ;
I wanna sound like a busy signal
By day & night fillin' in the blanks. "
_ (from Vertical take-Off, part 1)

GR's Propel Tension On Polyester Base is a decisive effort in tape recording, 13 private tracks taken from the archives of an adventurous mind and forming a mysterious sound diary, a core part in the evolution of GR's style and a secretive work in progress highlighting an incessant appetite for putting a tentacular vision onto the recordable surface at hand.
Among the tracks presented here _ which were taped between 2008/2016 _ some are achieved in one blow with evident fulgurance, while some others are initiated early and completed years later in different spaces, non-similar phases, bringing to the sound textures some unfathomable provenance ; the material is relentlessly tracked down by following the natural path of self-autonomy over space & time.

" The featured material was taped non-uniformally,
various analog recorders and spaces were used
over a period of private stimulation. "
_ (GR mentions on the back cover)

The spectrum of styles & processes approached and developed by GR on those recordings is ultimately wide.
Free construct open rhythm, hear the dead snare at your heels, freer rock, hard kicking grooves & serpentine pulse shall scare the hell out of ultra moving asses in the rush, saturation, dangerous proto-punk, the most menacing monster-fuzz downtown, cosmic elektronische & psycho tape looping, abstract instrumentals, fingerpicking to the decadent, possessed vocals and wicked street-punk delivery, non-chordal guitar excess, reel to reel manipulations, a mastery of fixed sounds through the written & unwritten… — Propel tension on polyester base, tapes archives.
